Happy New Year, everyone!

Man, what a year. I have had the chance to work with three of my dream carriers. I have met people I would never thought I would meet, heard stories I never thought I would hear and opened up doors that I thought I would never find. It has been a year of impressions. 

And of course I have found amazing finds! This dress is from the 1930:s, it is so delicate! Once it has had an petticoat which was attached by small buttons in the inside of the dress. It cost me 10 dollars (I know painfully cheap!). And I was lucky that it fit me like a glove. The reason for the cheap price was some spots it had, but I don't mind and I think I can wash them away. I am in love with this timeless piece.

Yesterday the frost covered everything. So it was time to shoot in the winter morning.

I got inspired by the old 1920:s and the feel of the beginning of the centenary. The underskirt is a vintage piece. I bought it at a flea market for only 5 dollars. It is hand sewn and very delicate. The top is so sheer and lovely, and a find from the same flea market Galoppisen outside Stockholm.  

The pain of the frost biting your feet was worth it for this lighting.

I had a lovely weekend, dancing to jazz until late night on Saturday, and last Friday we had a Cookienight at my place - when all my friends come over and everyone have baked like crazy. I did a chocolate pie, it became a bit too good. See the hanging out part here.

I am happy to show these great pictures by Sara Herrlander. And to show you the amazing Pierrot top that I found at a sale at the Opera House in Stockholm. It is a dream. 

And when this cotton top is combined with a lace dress like this, it easy to wear. The delicate dress was a find at a flea market in Täby for 1 dollar (I know that is crazy!).

Oh, this darling dress. It is one of two things that I share with a friend. We do not have the same style and we don't live together but we have managed to find this dress and a pair of shoes that we have bought together. 

This was a find at the Vintage Market in Stockholm last spring. You can see all of it here!

It did not cost much, only 20 dollars, so that is 10 dollars each. It reminds me of the art nouveau period. The turban is from the 1940:s and the lovely brooch is my grandfather's mother; my great grandmother Annie. It is dear to me.

So, as you know, I have a love for vintage lingerie, undergarments and swimsuits. This is a maillot, once used by the Opera in Stockholm. The word maillot comes from the french word maille. It was founded under the 1800:s for the the undergarments that the dancers and showgirls at the opera house used on stage. 

I really adore this one cause it straps is like suspenders, attached with delicate buttons. The hat is also a vintage find, made in lovely wool! 

Today was a great day. After a long cold I finally got out to see the leaf falling in the beautiful weather. So it did rain, but it did not matter. Cause who can't enjoy these colors, no matter the rain?

As you might guess - I am a fan of tweed. Not only cause it is such a classic fabric but also cause it often keeps me warm. 

The lovely cape was a great found at the sale at Kungliga Operan in Sweden. It is hand sewn for one of their operas and it cost me 10 dollars. Now, that is sick.

The grandpa pants are also tweed, a find from when Beyond Retro had its crazy sale last winter. It cost me like 4 dollars (I was in heaven). The tweed jacket is part of a lovely vintage suit with a matching high waist skirt. I bought that one on Blocket.se, for maybe 8 dollars. And then we have these brown leather boots, which I adore. Those ones I found at the touring flea market On the flea, in Stockholm.

And oh, the hat. It was also a find at Kungliga Operan. Hand made, and such a dramatic piece. The autumn is saved. 

So here you see something that I completely fell in love with. As the vintage sequin body that I showed you earlier, this is also a vintage find from Kungliga Operan in Stockholm, the opera house. It is a beautiful, well sewn top, inspired by the clown Pierrot (one of my personal favorites).

When we were leaving the vintage costume sale at the opera house, I just happened to go by this one. And it took my breath away. The cotton fabric is so perfectly shaped, the age is so charming. And then, hanging besides this one, a matching Pierrot costume for a boy appeared. I could not help myself. I bought both of them.

So this costume came with a lovely skirt. But once more I could not help myself while trying it on at home. I put on one skirt, then two, then double that. Underneath it here is five vintage skirts. One from a flea market, one from a vintage market in Hollywood, one from my mother and one is a vintage tutu for some volume.

Gosh, let me tell you about the most amazing sale ever.

As you might have noticed, I have a thing for vintage theater costumes. So the Opera in Stockholm, founded 1773, had to sell out some of their clothing a couple of weeks ago. I am talking about vintage clothing that have been on stage for real. They only have sales like these ones every fifth year or so - and this one was the biggest yet.

In my imagination I thought the pieces would go for about 100 dollar each. So I said to my friend that I will buy one costume but I would be prepared to pay for it. 

Turns out it was cheap. Turns out this vintage showgirl piece cost 5 dollars. Turns out I bought bags and bags of vintage clothing.

And the feather in these pictures, is a rare headpiece from the 1920:s. Such a lovely, fragile thing. To think it has survived so many years, it makes me shiver.
