Easter weekday

The easter is here! And so is all the candy, and the sun! But the spring isn't really here yet.

This vintage sweather is bought in a flee market, it's from the 1960:s and I am in love with it! The shorts are from topshop and those heels is bought from a friend for 1 dollar and a pair of sunglasses.

2 days ahead

So who doesn't miss spring? But you have to make the best of what the winter offers you - and use those woolen shorts as much as you can!

They are from the brand St.Emile and I bought them in a thrifted store in Stockholm for like 5 dollars and to my surprise they were made of cashgora! So they are super soft and super warm! And I always wanted a pair of grey high waisted shorts.

The top is a typical bullet bra from the 1950:s. It is just lovely, though an older generation get quite chocked when they see me walking around in just "undies". The hat, also in wool, is from about the same period. I bought it at a second hand store Myrorna in Stockholm some years ago.

Birthday wishes

Yay! My birthday came and went and so much pleasure came with it!
This was for the party: 'Decadent Drag - a Queen's masquerade'. The night was magic!

To my surprise I found the perfect dress on sale at Bikbok. Then there is just some fake lashes as long as highways, some fake brows and sparkles, sparkles, sparkles.

Sequin seed

Well who doesn't love sale? And who doesn't love awesome sparkling green shorts? Right after christmas it was the perfect timing to find all the jewels that I'd been gazing at! The shorts are from H&M and the top I just ran into at Bikbok. 

But I will warn you, the top made horrible sores when I wore it one night (sequin can do that to you) but I mean - the pieces were the perfect match. It reminds me of the cabaret.

And talk about cabaret, look at these girls (at 1.56)! Please give me the sailor outfit!

Grandma's winter warm

This weekend it has been about -18 °C here. This is my dear grandmother's outfit from when my father was a kid. The coat is from the 1970:s and you wouldn't belive how warm it is. 

You can also see the pictures of my grandmother's overall that I got from her last spring and I have been waiting and waiting for the winter to come to be able to use it.

Finally it's here and it is just amazing to have an overall just like a kid! Sitting in the snow, riding down a hill or making snow angels is not a problem anymore!

The poisoned apple

Well I think I was as lucky when I stumpled over this rare dress at a flee market!

This is an exquisite vintage dress from Märthaskolan. Märthaskolan was one of the few Swedish brands who made haute couture and they started in 1927. The seamstresses also dressed the royal family - they had a royal Warrent. 

Märthaskolan is really a part of the Swedish fashion history and the needlecraft is art. All the details in sewing and design is planned to perfection. Is it still a disirable brand and this dress can be sold for up to 240 dollars today. 
I found it for 16 dollars at the flee market. My, my I was in heaven! 

And I still am, this dress is a dream! The deatils are stunning. As you can see you have to be gentle to get inside it; first you go through two zippers, one for the lace and one for the petticoat, and last there are hooks for the bustier. Even the corset metal straps are gorgeous!   

In 2012 a museum in Stockholm, Livrustkammaren which focus on the royal family, had en exhibition called Royal Vintage were you could see a lot of Märthaskolan's work. You can also read about the exhibition in English on Gingerstyle.

Winter awesomeness

 I almost broke my neck conquering this sledding hill with my sledge some weeks ago. It sure has the perfect view!

I bought the woolen sweater on a flee market last summer, for just a simple 1 dollar. The brand is Ivanhoe of Sweden, so it has some great quality. The pilot cap and the leather gloves are bought on a market that is every october in Rimbo, Sweden. They market has a sweet mix of whitetrash stuff and great handmade craft!

The bag is a real jewel. It is a big leather suitcase that I bought in a store which sell them mostely to middle age men. Perfection to me.
