So, as you know, I have a love for vintage lingerie, undergarments and swimsuits. This is a maillot, once used by the Opera in Stockholm. The word maillot comes from the french word maille. It was founded under the 1800:s for the the undergarments that the dancers and showgirls at the opera house used on stage. 

I really adore this one cause it straps is like suspenders, attached with delicate buttons. The hat is also a vintage find, made in lovely wool! 

Today was a great day. After a long cold I finally got out to see the leaf falling in the beautiful weather. So it did rain, but it did not matter. Cause who can't enjoy these colors, no matter the rain?

As you might guess - I am a fan of tweed. Not only cause it is such a classic fabric but also cause it often keeps me warm. 

The lovely cape was a great found at the sale at Kungliga Operan in Sweden. It is hand sewn for one of their operas and it cost me 10 dollars. Now, that is sick.

The grandpa pants are also tweed, a find from when Beyond Retro had its crazy sale last winter. It cost me like 4 dollars (I was in heaven). The tweed jacket is part of a lovely vintage suit with a matching high waist skirt. I bought that one on Blocket.se, for maybe 8 dollars. And then we have these brown leather boots, which I adore. Those ones I found at the touring flea market On the flea, in Stockholm.

And oh, the hat. It was also a find at Kungliga Operan. Hand made, and such a dramatic piece. The autumn is saved. 

So here you see something that I completely fell in love with. As the vintage sequin body that I showed you earlier, this is also a vintage find from Kungliga Operan in Stockholm, the opera house. It is a beautiful, well sewn top, inspired by the clown Pierrot (one of my personal favorites).

When we were leaving the vintage costume sale at the opera house, I just happened to go by this one. And it took my breath away. The cotton fabric is so perfectly shaped, the age is so charming. And then, hanging besides this one, a matching Pierrot costume for a boy appeared. I could not help myself. I bought both of them.

So this costume came with a lovely skirt. But once more I could not help myself while trying it on at home. I put on one skirt, then two, then double that. Underneath it here is five vintage skirts. One from a flea market, one from a vintage market in Hollywood, one from my mother and one is a vintage tutu for some volume.

Gosh, let me tell you about the most amazing sale ever.

As you might have noticed, I have a thing for vintage theater costumes. So the Opera in Stockholm, founded 1773, had to sell out some of their clothing a couple of weeks ago. I am talking about vintage clothing that have been on stage for real. They only have sales like these ones every fifth year or so - and this one was the biggest yet.

In my imagination I thought the pieces would go for about 100 dollar each. So I said to my friend that I will buy one costume but I would be prepared to pay for it. 

Turns out it was cheap. Turns out this vintage showgirl piece cost 5 dollars. Turns out I bought bags and bags of vintage clothing.

And the feather in these pictures, is a rare headpiece from the 1920:s. Such a lovely, fragile thing. To think it has survived so many years, it makes me shiver. 

When owning a vintage tutu, who can resist drowning it in water? 

I was hoping to get a flow with the water streams, and I was glad to see it did. The vintage tutu is not as stiff as some vintage tulle can become. Probably because this piece is from the 1960:s or so, in a soft tulle. And don't worry, the water is so clear so it was easy to clean it afterwards.

I bought the tutu in the flea market Solnahallen Megaloppis, in Sweden just outside Stockholm. It is about three times a year and I always find great stuff. Next time is the 4th and 5th of October!

The lace top is actually a baby doll dress that I found at the flea market Galoppisen this summer.

So September is here but in Sweden we still have some hot summer days left! 

Last week I visited my friend's country house in Dalarna. So stunning, just by a lake close to the mountains. This is what I wore, a vintage sailor jumpsuit! I adore it, I found it on a flea market close to Stockholm the weekend before. It cost me 2 dollars! The girl who sold it was going to move so she just wanted to get rid of her stuff (the best kind of seller). See it here!

The amazing sailor hat is from the beginning of the 1900:s. So it is about a 100 years old and such a darling item! You can see the post I made earlier with it here.I bought it on a flea market in Gustavsberg two years ago. And a new Mega flea market is actually due there this weekend! 

Sometimes you are just a lucky, lucky girl. 

When I was a flea market last spring, Solnahallens Megaloppis, this beauty was hanging on the wall where two young girls were selling clothes. This is a flea market where you find mostly collectible porcelain and fun things combined with garage sale type of stuff. I have made real finds here! But this beautiful 1950:s dress takes the prize.

The girl who sold it to me said it was her grandmothers dress. She did not want it, and her grandmother had past away. But she treasured it, and so do I. She wanted 20 dollars for it! Nothing for a precious vintage piece which is almost untouched. 

So you can imagine that I was glad to wear it when one of my best friends got married in June. See all the goodies here.

So finally I am back from Tokyo, the west coast trips and all the fun! Sometimes it feels good just being at home. The Tokyo trip was insane!

It is not easy finding out where to go for the best vintage finds in Tokyo. Most of the webpages are in Japanese and they are hard to locate. But after some research and talking to people at the spot I found a lot of pearls. Read all about it here.

Well I am back and well in Sweden now, as you may see. This lovely hat was a find at the flea market tour that was in Sweden last spring, 'On the flea'. It only costed me 3 dollars, nothing! The lace dress is also a flea market find but it is not that old. It's a Weekday dress and I paid 1 dollar for it.I really adore its clean lace back. However I had to cut the underskirt lining because I did not like it being longer than the lace. And now I am very happy with it!

So guys, you know I am in love with vintage lingerie and underskirts. Here is a vintage corset from the 1940:s. Such a lovely model, with lace in the front. I found it on the Vintage fair in Stockholm which is every spring and autumn. But if you can't wait, you can always go to Sommarloppisen in Stockholm! The underskirt is from Yesfor.com, I just could not help myself. I like underskirts too much.
